June is Here!
Thoughts of vacations, summertime activities, celebrations and more fill our minds as we embark into the summer season. June 2021 is a great month at Stampin’ Up! because there’s a lot going on - the introduction of our Kit Collection, the retirement of the Jan-June 2021 Mini Catalog, focus on the new In Colors and Annual Catalog, and more!
Summer is a favorite season for many. While I could do without the extreme heat that I used to love, I enjoy gardening, lunching outside with friends, taking a drive and exploring new places, and welcoming guests who love this area. After the year we’ve all just put in, these moments are particularly special.
May brought some sadness as our beloved Lucky (Shih Tzu mix) had to make his way over the Rainbow Bridge. First Brandy in November, now Lucky. Lucky was a rescue who apparently didn’t have a great life in the beginning, but we hope we made up for it in the last two years he lived in our home. There are so many (animals and humans) who are hurting. Greeting cards are one way to let others know we’re thinking about them. A future project idea is to have sympathy and thinking of you cards ready for those occasions when a card says it best. Stay tuned for more on that.
In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine and look for the rainbows. Summer flies by all too fast. Make those memories into movies in your mind, and remember to use that inspiration in your papercrafting.
Wishing you sunny days, rolling waves, and smiles aplenty!

Inspiration Abounds
Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend a Stampin’ Up! virtual retreat (more about how those work later). It was an entire day full of inspiration and instruction, and a great way to spend a Saturday! That said, I am (and aren’t we all?) so ready for the world to return to “normal” so I can arrange to have some in person classes and share what I’ve learned! In the meantime, I’m going to try out videos. Not sure that I have all the right equipment and it will definitely be a learning process, but after seeing what everyone put together yesterday, I’m inspired to start.
Inspiration is one of the most powerful things in the world. We often have to make a concentrated effort to tune in to it, because it doesn’t just fall in our laps in the face of our busy daily lives. To be truly inspired is like experiencing spring - everything is new, green, and ready to burst forth for the season. I encourage everyone to create in whatever way they enjoy. Getting started is the hardest part! I believe one of the best ways is to literally block off time in your calendar. That’s what I did yesterday, and barring absolute emergency, nothing was going to prevent me from soaking in the joy of creating beautiful papercrafts.
What will you create today? This week? This season? Let me know what you’d like to learn or give me ideas to feature in my Stampin’ Up! videos. “Season 1” is coming shortly!
Until next time, may your days be filled with much peace and creativity! #create #papercrafts #stampinup

Join my Facebook Group, Papercrafts & Paws!
Hi everyone! Just a quick note to invite you to join my Facebook page, Papercrafts & Paws (link below). I have many things I’m passionate about, but two of the top ones are animal welfare and crafting, specifically card making. Going forward with some animal welfare-minded friends, I am going to look at ways to give back to the animal community through my card making. There will be much more to come, so please join my page now where there will be more announcements - and some giveaways! Of course, I’ll update the blog, too. It’s exciting but a bit frustrating to have so many ideas and only so many hours in the day - and then there’s working - I’m sure you can relate! Let’s make 2021 the year we help animals in need - and please feel free to post your pet’s photo below! Here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/papercraftsandpaws

Happy New Year Stamping Friends!
#wendyscardshopstampinup #wendyscardshop
Who’s ready for 2021? I think it’s safe to say we all are! Stampin’ Up! is ready with the brand new Mini Catalog that is full of beautiful and innovative products to spark the imagination. I can’t wait to share this with you in just a few days!
In the meantime, here’s a snapshot of my Christmas cards this year that I sent to family and friends. The poinsettia die set was so versatile, and I chose to use some patterned papers for some of the layers, along with the sprigs of berries. No two were the same. I also used a 5 x 7 format so that there was more space for my Mom to write in them as she likes to include a little note to everyone. I hope you like this design. If you’d like instructions, just email me at wendyscardshop@gmail.com
Another moment of creative spark came when I decided to use my holiday cards from a card swap to decorate with! I consider cards works of art as they are all unique and felt they should be on display, not just put away in my albums.
Speaking of card swaps, I would love to coordinate one with my followers here. You would be surprised how you inspire others and how they likewise inspire you! Stay tuned for more details on that.
In the meantime, have a very safe and Happy New Year. May 2021 be a prosperous, happy, healthy, and super creative year for us all!

The Dog Days of Summer
The East Coast is currently in the grip of a massive heatwave. Here in Eastern North Carolina, the heat index for nearly a week is a minimum of 109, getting as high as 115. Therefore, it is perfect indoor crafting weather!
To help celebrate these “dog days of summer”, why not create some really cute cards featuring dogs - and cats! The newest stamp set featuring our furry friends is called Playful Pets - in fact, there’s a whole suite of products including cling stamps, dies, designer paper, and embellishments! You can purchase the products individually, in a bundle (stamps and dies), or a suite that includes all the coordinating products!
These pets are whimsical and fun! You’re love the little characters and find lots of uses for paper crafting projects from cards to scrapbook pages to even some treat bags for gifting!
So have a sit at your crafting table, and enjoy shopping and creating! (And PS, make sure your furry friends inside and well hydrated too! )
Comment below with a photo of your furry crafting companion (admittedly, cats can use a little coaching not to knock the supplies off the craft desk and unroll ribbon and twine, but we love them anyway, right?)
Suite (Stamps, Dies, Designer Series Paper, Trinkets and Trim
PS - As an added bonus, for every $50 you spend in July, you’ll receive a coupon to shop with in August!
Stay cool, friends.
